Running Log – Milner Park

runninglog

With a week to the Green Thumb Half Marathon we were suppose to take it easy this weekend and according to our training schedule do nothing. I believe in Newton’s Law of Motion in regards to training “an object in motion will stay in motion”.

Do you take a week off before a race?

Today’s run was good. Large group of people and a new route. Started off good but I got winded going up the hill on 200 street. After all the hills I managed to fly down the long hill passing a few people. I was running with a friend from the previous group and we talked for the last 7k of the run. I still have not found my place in the new group but it will come with time.

If you compare this run to my 14k at Dirby Reach 2 months ago my pace is 37 seconds faster per km.

Garmin

Distance: 14.14k
Total Time:
1:31:45
Avg Pace: 6:29 /km per minute
Avg Speed: 9.2 km/h
Calories Burned: 1713

What??!! No taper for you Gary??!!!!

If you’re planning on running the BMO Half we’ll make you taper so you can truly appreciate the well earned break before race day. lol

Good job today btw, and as for 200th hill, well, we are all winded on that one.

Have a great rest of your Sunday :)
